Summary
We are in search of a Quality Assurance (QA) Engineer with a sound knowledge in relevant engineering disciplines and a strong demonstrated experience in the QA on aerospace/space engineering related projects.

The QA Engineer provides technical insight on all projects and acts to monitor closely the quality of products and processes. The QA Engineer organizes all roles associated to quality assurance within LSS, coordinates interaction between the project managers and system engineers, and provides guidance to the team where appropriate. The ideal candidate will be a detail-orientated individual who is capable of foreseeing potential issues related to QA before they occur and thus is able to provide a suitable solution to circumvent such issues. The QA Engineer will strive to improve all aspects of the quality within the working environment and increase teams’ working knowledge by ensuring the team understand their responsibilities with regards to QA.
The successful candidate will ideally have a strong demonstrated design discipline background along with at least 5 years’ experience assisting technical teams in a QA Engineering capacity within the European space/aerospace industries.
Responsibilities
- Develop, manage and maintain all QA processes, plans and procedures necessary for the delivery of all live projects.
- Ensure that activities are performed to the latest quality standards.
- Ensure the project activities comply with quality standards and procedures.
- Act as a first point of contact for advice on quality plans and quality arrangements.
- Assist all project managers, systems engineers and work-package managers in establishing quality management arrangements at the beginning of all work-packages and maintain them through the project life-cycle.
- Establish and maintain KPIs in line with project quality objectives.
- Identify and drive continuous improvement opportunities within the quality management system.
- Implement the use of quality management tools to improve processes and work closely with project managers and systems engineers to identify the root causes of problems.
- Prepare monthly reports on quality performance of project team and supply chain, good practices, non-conformities status, trend analyses, auditing status, KPIs, and the cost of quality.
- Conduct internal quality training/workshops with project teams to ensure implementation of QMS.
Your Profile
At least 5 years of professional experience in a Quality Assurance role, preferably in the European Space/Aerospace industry.
- Ideally have an engineering design background along with experience working on engineering/design projects in the Space/Aerospace sectors in Europe.
- Master’s degree in Aerospace Engineering, or similar qualifications or experience.
- Experience in mechanical design, preferably within SolidWorks.
- Practical experience and thorough knowledge of applying the standards relating to the European space industry (ESA, ECSS, etc.).
- The ability to work within a team on multiple projects, to prioritise tasks and to manage your time.
- Experience of delivering work-packages to time and budget constraints.
- Highly detail-orientated approach.
- Proficient in documentation version control, design review and sign-off processes.
- Used to working in a fast paced, changing environment.
- A self-motivated, team player, flexible and willing to learn.
- Strong knowledge of ISO 9001, knowledge of ISO 9100 is desirable.
- Experience with Quality Management Tools and Techniques.
- Excellent communication skills and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to cope well under pressure and work within tight timeframes.
